Additional Resources
This page includes resources that don't fit
naturally under any of the existing SU centers. Suggested additions are welcome.
Other OR/MS Societies
Many of INFORMS' Liaison Societies also have
useful information (their publications, job opportunities, conferences, etc.).
The Guide to OR/MS
Societies provides pointers to their offerings.
The following are some resources suggested by other professional societies.
AIS (Association for Information
Systems)
- A Business Researcher's
Interests, although oriented to researchers, academics and practitioners
dealing with organizational issues in information systems, this excellent site
has collected a great amount of online information on topics ranging from
intranets to knowledge management, from electronic commerce to virtual organization,
and from business process reengineering to intellectual property. It would
probably be of interest to any business school student.
ASA (American Statistical Association)
IFORS (International Federation of
Operational Research Societies)
ISWorld Net
SIAM
(Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics)
- Link to Computing Research
Association, an association of more than 200 North American academic
departments of computer science, computer engineering and related fields;
laboratories in industry, government and academia engaging in basic computing
research; and affiliated
professional societies. The website includes:
- CRA Forsythe
List, a complete listing of Ph.D. granting CS&E programs in North
America.
- CRA Taulbee Survey, a principal source of information on the
production and employment of Ph.D.s and faculty in computer science and
computer engineering in North America. It provides salary and demographic
data for faculty in CS & CE in North America.
- Historical Trends in
Computer Science: 1975-91, some historical data, like degree production
in the last three decades, may be useful for evaluating long-term trends.
