Honors/Dean's List

Honors Lists are published after the fall and winter terms, and are used to indicate academic excellence based on a student's Quality Point Average and number of credits earned. The requirements are as follows:

Term Honor List

  • The student must have earned a quality point average of 3.25 or higher
  • The student must have completed a minimum of six credits during the term of eligibility
  • The student must have completed a minimum of 15 credits of academic work for quality grades at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dean's Honor List

  • The student must have earned a cumulative and term quality point averages of 3.25 or higher
  • The student must have completed a minimum of six credits during the term of eligibility
  • The student must have completed a minimum of 30 credits of academic work for quality grades at the University of Pittsburgh.

If any student qualifies for both the Term Honor and Dean's Honor Lists, his/her name will only appear on the Dean's List. Students receive a letter of commendation as recognition for these achievements.
